Outfit: Kate Middleton inspired

The queen of awkward faces...
not used to having my picture taken. How do you ladies always look so natural in your pictures? Got some tips?

Dress: Old Navy
Sandals: Nine West

When I first came across this dress on Old Navy's website it immediately remained me of Kate's engagement dress. I ended up purchasing it that day (about a month ago) and wasn't sure about keeping it. I really like it but I do wish it was knee length. Then I thought it would nicely transition into Fall...I can picture it with some boots and maybe a blazer or cardi. So I decided to keep it.

We're leaving for Chicago on Friday, so excited. I've been there quite a few times but I'm sure there is a lot more to do/see that I know about.  If you ladies have any recommendations of any places to see/visit/shop at please let me know in the comments below. I'm always excited to discover something new.

Happy Tuesday!

  5. You look fantastic! You really do look like Kate Middleton, especially since you blocked out your face. And I cannot believe this dress was Old Navy. You make it look like $100.

  7. Dress is so cute and those sandals are perfect. Try just looking towards the camera at like a 45* angle with just a neutral face, not directly at it. Those almost always look good. ;-)

  10. Wow - that dress does not look like it came from Old Navy (and you know I love to shop there LOL!)

You make it look so elegant - love the nude shoes with it - so very Kate (although she loves her closed-toe wedges!)

  12. You're so right about the Kate Middleton lookalike. It's a divine color and looks flawless on you!

And my only advice is to chop off your head for pictures. I know I could never hold it together to look normal in a picture. I do it all the time, lest my goofy face is all over the internet.

  17. You know, with your face blocked out you could totally pass for Kate. I'm serious! The hair, the dress, the figure. Looking absolutely gorgeous, Lilly!

  20. Love this dress and Old Navy did a great job making this wrap dress because I was quite convinced it was DVF! This dress also made it to GMA when they featured outfits similar to Kate's style! I actually live in Downtown Chicago so I am excited you'll be visiting! Best pizza place is Giordano's! You'll want to do as much shopping on Michigan Avenune and window shopping on Oak Street! Enjoy :)

  21. The dress is really pretty! I can't critique your smile, but I often smile on the 2.5 of 1-2-3 to get the most natural smile. ;-)

  24. Looks way more expensive than ON..that is awesome...I actually like the shorter length..you have great gams AND it is so conservative everywhere else..that adds a little sex appeal, no?
I just featured one of my fav ON dresses on my blog today...if you have patience to weed through their ill fitting items...you can really find some gems there, no?
Hope you are having a great week! LOVE your outfit post today...ladies..she left the bathroom!! j/k

  25. Gahhhh! TOTALLY running to Old Navy to see if it'll fit me. It's gorgeous. I'm absolutely crazy about Kate Middleton's classy style & this definitely reminds me of her. Great find!

  26. I think the dress hits your leg at a flattering spot so don't fret it isn't knee-length; it's still demure and sophisiticated. Kind of funny you blurred out your face, though!

  27. Thanks ladies :)

@Katie [the bright life] - Thank you :) I'm sure the awkwardness between me and the camera will pass...some day :)

@Carly - Once in a while they have some great items.
Haha...I know, I finally left the bathroom, for now ;-)

@JC - I hope it fits. You might have to order it online though, it lists the dress as an online item only (but I have seen one at my local store last time, so I hope you do find it in sore).

@Sarah S. - Thank you. With most of my outfit posts I just cropped out my face. Reason being I didn't want my face all over the internet but wanted it to be sort of anonymous blog. That didn't last long though. Most of the pictures I post still have my head cropped or my face blurred out, just feel more comfortable that way I guess. Especially when my camera and I have some awkward moments :)
