Jeans, Tee, Flats, Cardi, Tote, Scarf
Picking a travel outfit is not hard but when you’re traveling from 35 degrees weather to 85-90 degrees, what does one wear? Personally, I don’t want to arrive at my destination in boots and a heavy coat. So I figured a light top, nice thick cardigan, flats, scarf and I should be good.
Once there, take cardi off, cuff the jeans and I won’t cook alive.
I planned to wear something similar to the look above. Will see what I’ll actually end up wearing.
What would wear if you traveled from a cold to a warm destination or vice-verse?
xo
I usually do a dress with leggings underneath, then take the leggings off once I arrive! KristinaKristina does the Internets
For my trip to New York I am pretty much planning to wear leggings with knee high boots and then a light shirt under a sweater so that it doesn't get too hot with a coat on.
I was hoping that someone would do a post on traveling! I will be flying from Anchorage, AK to Atlanta, GA in a couple of weeks (way different temperatures!) and I had no idea what I would wear….to add to the difficulty I will be traveling with my toddler! Thanks for the post!
i'm jealous that you're heading somewhere that's 85-90 degrees!good tips for my trip in Jan from BOS -> FLA :)xo – heatherwww.ThisLifeIsYours.com
That's just about what I wear everytime I travel. Sometimes I'll go all "celebrity-esque" and sport some heels (because let's face it, you're sitting most of the time anyway) but since I've flown with a baby…flats are a must!
The perfect outfit for such a destination!
Lilly, I just traveled from Cincinnati to Tampa for the Thanksgiving holiday and wore an almost identical outfit. Flats with the baby were a must and having a tee on under the cardi made it easy to transition once we were in the warmer weather. I think it is a nearly perfect way to go. I really like the suggestion about a dress (or skirt) with tights and then being able to peel the tights off and lose a jacket once hit the warmer climate. That would be a more fun idea. Either way enjoy the trip!XOJessy Check out my Coach Poppy giveaway going on now! http://fourseasonsstyle.blogspot.com/2012/12/giveaway-coach-poppy.html
This is a great travel outfit, hope you have a great time on your trip!gl0ssi.blogspot.ca
Going from Minnesota (school) to Florida (home), and I'm planning on wearing a light long-sleeve with a light sweater, leggings (possibly jeans, not sure yet) and flats! then I just take the sweater off and I'm good to go!
Love the outfit you put together – the grey and blue pieces won't get dirty – and the scarf is a gorgeous pop of brightness! Also love the Longchamp bag. Hope you have an amazing holiday and can't wait to see some pics 🙂
I recently posted two different travel posts on my blog, The Thread Affect, to prepare for all the travel associated with the holidays! I would love for you to check them out! What I Wear to Travel: http://ow.ly/fWytE Celebrity Travel Attire & Look for Less: http://ow.ly/fWyt2
I really like this look. I'm traveling to Jamaica in January and I was wondering what I could wear that could be easily converted into a temperature appropriate outfit…I had even contemplated a cute skirt, tights and flats – removing the tights once I got there. :)Enjoy your trip! I think these pieces are perfect. I would choose a t and cardi combo if I were traveling to a warmer destination too. I hope you have a wonferful & relaxing get away. I look forward to seeing your trip pics:-)XO, Ginahttp://classyeverafter.blogspot.com
Love all of your looks Lily. You are an inspiration to all of us who are stylistically challenged. 🙂 Kepp it up.
Cute outfit. I like to wear lots of layers when I travel, especially if I'm going from some place colder to warmer. Agi:)vodkainfusedlemonade.wordpress.com

This is almost my exact travel outfit, even without a weather change, you never know how hot or cold the plane will be. I usually opt for jeggings or stretchy jeans with a longer top & sweater to stay comfy!
Flats are your best friend when travelling.http://mybeautyobssession.blogspot.ca/
Adorable. Love casual and comfy travel looks that still look acceptable! Corbynnthesistersinthecity.com
this is perfect travelling with kids too. http://delightfulideas.com/xo lala
Lovely pick – my style exactly! I only add a few accessories to it: a long bead necklace, a bracelet, a ring and a pair of earrings.Love,Kugati
this is pretty standard for me, as well. skinny jeans (with stretch) or leggings, tshirt or tank top (a longer one if i wear the leggings), cardigan, scarf, flats (or toms, converse, or a short summery boot).
I bought the sweater after seeing it here – it arrived a couple of days ago & I'm IN LOVE. thank u for featuring it!!
